Visitor Exports are defined as spending within the country by international tourists for both business and leisure trips, including transportation spending. Visitor exports are a key component of the direct contribution of Travel & Tourism.
Domestic travel spending generated 26.2% of direct Travel & Tourism GDP in 2016 compared with 73.8% for visitor exports in Albania. Domestic travel spending is expected to grow by 5.8% in 2017 to ALL82.4bn, and rise by 5.9% pa to ALL146.0bn in 2027. Visitor exports are expected to grow by 5.0% in 2017 to ALL229.9bn, and rise by 6.2% pa to ALL419.4bn in 2027.
Meanwhile in 2016, Albania managed to generate ALL219.1bn in visitor exports. In 2017 the country is expected to attract 4,261,000 international tourist arrivals.
