Follow Business Albania’s pollster, Eduard Zaloshnja, PhD, has conducted a survey for Agenda institute, funded by “Strengthening Community Policing in Albania” (SCPA), a Swedish government project. Based on self-reporting from 1400 Albanians (sampled randomly across the country), the survey measured the seatbelt use by motorists and passengers of automobiles and the use of cellphones while driving. This is the first survey conducted in Albania on these topics.
Dr. Zaloshnja found that around 75% of Albanians (over 16 years old) use seatbelts while driving or riding automobiles. On the other side, 45% of drivers use cellphones while driving. Fortunately, only 2/3 of those use cellphones outside of cities and towns, were speed limits are higher.
