The Regional Cooperation Council, RCC, has presented the latest 3-year project to promote and develop tourism in the Western Balkans. This project will help the 6 countries of the region diversify their adventurous tourism products, build and promote joint bids that can be competitive in international markets, so they can create income and jobs.
“We who live in this region know very well the wealth that has the nature and potentials of cultural heritage are untapped. Over the next three years, this RCC project will give 30 small grants worth 50 thousand euros each in order to improve infrastructure around adventurous voyages in the region. The first calls will be published in July of this year, “said Goran Svilanovic, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council.
The project in total affects the value of 5 million euros and is funded by the European Union. The project also includes identifying the most valuable adventure tourism avenues in the 6 countries of the region as well as developing them through the grant scheme thus providing a global promotion of them. The aim is to present these trails and tourist areas as a joint offer for the world.
