Local and foreign investors are showing interest in establishing photovoltaic parks in Albania. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy says it has received 8 official requests for building such parks this year, during the April – July period.
One of the proposals comes from three investors which propose the building of a 10 hectares park in Divjaka, at an investing value of EUR 3.9 million. According to the proposed draft plan, the production capacity of solar energy will be 5 MW. Other proposals are smaller regarding the amount in disposal for investment, in accordance to the surface and the producing capacity proposed.
Experts of the field suggest that Albania should start producing solar energy in order to save energy and use it more efficiently. The government aims to save energy by producing solar energy at 9% by the end of 2018.
