Márton Bélik: The Study Europe Fair in Tirana Was Very Successful, This is What the Students Must Check Now

By Rudina HOXHA

Márton Bélik, International Education Lead at EIT Digital for Hungary area shared with Follow Business Albania his thoughts about the last Study Europe Fair which was organized on October 26 in Tirana by the European Commission.

Bélik, who is a key person in supporting the universities, students and parents in participating in pan- European educational activities and in coordinating the education-related outreach activities in EIT RIS EU member states, was impressed by the great interest of the Albanian students in this Fair and by their educational background.

After the Fair, he said, it is time for the students to check the relevant links where the deadlines and the ways how to apply are clearly described.

The Study Europe Fair  consisted of 27 booths representing 34 institutions from 18 countries. The European Union had its own booth with European Union Representatives.

How was the Study Europe Fair from your perspective as EIT Education Lead and what did you gain out of it?

It was a very good event, even the turnout was big. Very good mix of students, parents, institutions, teachers who can take the message to their homes and institutions.

I thank you the Study in Europe team for all their efforts.

How interesting were the Albanian students in this Fair? How can be the impact of this Fair on their future careers?

Very interesting applicants! Good professional background with good language skills, most of the participants possess a command of at least 2-3 languages (English, German, French).

What was also very interesting is that the ratio of “girls/boys” was very good! IT is not for boys only, we have to keep in mind.

It is important that the prospective student prepare well in advance – already on the 2nd year of their bachelors. Of course students in their last years of bachelors can apply straight away.

What are the follow up steps the students should take at the end of this event?

I sent a first e-mail to all the participants.

The application deadline is November 15, 2019 and February 3, 2020. These deadlines need to be written down. Applicants should check the website for information and also: where they can find more information about the way of application.

What is EIT doing to help the students  interested in Europe and its universities?

The EIT Digital is merging top 20 higher educational institutions of Europe, with the master and summer school programs of the EIT Digital applicants get access to this high quality education and later on to this high quality ecosystem.
