On 18 October 2018, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko attended the ceremony organized by Intesa Sanpaolo Albania (ISP Albania), on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its operation in Albania and the inauguration of new offices in Tirana.
The ceremony was attended by senior representatives of the financial and banking system, collaborators of ISP Albania Bank, clients and employees.
The activity was opened by greetings from Mr. Silvio Pedrazzi, General Manager of ISP Albania, Gent Sejko, Governor of the Bank of Albania, Bozo Prka, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISP Albania, Mr. Alberto Cutillo, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Tirana, Erion Veliaj, Mayor of Tirana as well as Mr. Alessandro Dordolo, Human Resources Director of ISP Subsidiaries.
In his greeting speech, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, said that over the years, the banking system and the Albanian economy have gone through many stages and have been developing continuously. In this context, he added that today the country’s economy is showing good indicators as well as a well-capitalized, liquid banking system and a very rich range of products and services that are offered to a broader clientele, individuals and companies.
Governor Sejko underlined that in these 10 years, the ISP Albania Bank has recognized a dynamic development, resizing its activity in response to market changes and its strategy, and following a prudential approach to risk management, expressed in positive positive performance of its performance indicators.
He further underlined that ISP Albania Bank has successfully managed the most recent strategic initiative regarding the absorption of another bank in the system, thus avoiding potential negative impacts both operationally and commercially.
Further on, Governor Sejko said that ISP Albania Bank continues to retain its role as a support and funding provider for private and public enterprises, focusing on sectors that ensure a sustainable development and constitute the main pillars of economic growth in the country.
In conclusion, Governor Sejko expressed positively about the investments of such institutions, which bring the experience and culture of European banking in providing services to corporate and individual clients. He underlined that it is a good sign for the economy and the banking sector, which an investor and serious partner like ISP Albania Bank makes today another step towards consolidating and positioning it in the Albanian market.
