The countries of the European Union and especially Italy remain the main trading partners of our country.
The BoA’s quarterly monetary policy report points out that these countries remain the main trading partners both in terms of exports and in terms of imports.
Increasing exports of fuel and electricity has also contributed to the increase in the share of partners such as Spain, Serbia and Switzerland.
Second-quarter data only include statistics on exports and imports of goods for this period.
The trade deficit in goods narrowed by about 12.8% in annual terms, driven by
the rapid growth of exports. On the other hand, the increase in imports has been low.
Exports of goods in value expanded by about 17.8% annually, during the second quarter of 2018, a rate similar to the previous quarter.
