On June 24-26, the United Nations Forum on Public Services (UNPSF) was held in the Republic of Azerbaijan on the theme “Realizing Sustainable Development Goals through Provision of Effective Services, Innovative Transformation and Responsible Institutions”.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy is represented in this Forum by the Deputy Minister. Dajna Sorensen, which was part of the discussion in the panel “Promoting Public Services with Gender Responsibility for the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals”. In her discussion, Ms. Sorensen focused on gender budgeting, gender and social policy, and the leading role of the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
The forum is organized by the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovation, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UN Women and UNDESA. It serves as a platform for policymakers to reflect on how to advance progress in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants have the opportunity to discuss / debate on emerging issues and trends, discuss best practices, strategies and innovative approaches to effective delivery of services and innovative transformation within SDGs.
