Embling said that he and his team are ready to help all sorts of clients to produce bespoke video content, ranging from corporate promotional films, to social media materials.

The video, according to him, is a powerful communication tool – reaching many people, in many places, quickly.

“You can create some of your own content in house. You can also work with production companies like us to help you plan, produce and deliver a wide array of professional content. There are a range of options, to meet all sorts of budgets, the seasoned journalist said.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Embling explained that they began offering the new service – that of creating video content for clients to distribute to the media – including footage and interviews.

Full interview below:

Damon, thank you for accepting my request for this interview. Recently you introduced a great initiative on video production as a way to promote and highlight various people and brands. Can you briefly elaborate on that? Is this part of a strategy or a campaign?

At Headline Media UK, we help all sorts of clients to produce bespoke video content, ranging from corporate promotional films, to social media materials.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a big impact on our usual ways of working but, at the same time, the nature of the health crisis has made public communication even more important – sparking an increased need and hunger for video.

We adapted fast, offering advice and support for those who suddenly found themselves creating their own video content with their smartphones or having to give TV/video interviews live from the homes. Technology now makes all this possible.

Later into the pandemic, we began offering a new service whereby we create video content for clients to distribute to the media – including footage and interviews. The idea is that we send a small team to the filming location to gather the material, adhering to the latest government health and safety regulations, and then edit and produce a ‘media kit’ for the client to send out to their journalist database and/or to upload to the news section of their website. This enables them to continue communicating through the media, but to minimise risks – avoiding several media outlets wanting to film at one site, for example.

This is a service we will be continuing once the pandemic is over too.

What are the main target groups this initiative addresses and how can they take use of this opportunity to the maximum they can? Is this a way for the businesses to maximize their projects?

Our video production services, including the media kits, can benefit all sorts of clients – including governmental departments and organisations, charities and businesses. Anyone who has important messages to communicate to their audiences and consumers. Video has become such a powerful tool to reach large numbers of people, particularly through social media. We’re here to help communications and marketing professionals achieve their goals.

Why you and your team are investing in this field even more right now?

The pandemic has highlighted once again the power of strong video – to reach so many people, wherever they are. Video production has always been a big part of our business and will only grow into the future.

What messages and emotions are you trying to evoke?

Video can provoke so many feelings and emotions and that’s crucial to create interest and impact. Before moving in production, we take time to understand our clients, their ethos, the messages they want to convey, the audiences they want to connect with. Videos can have so many different purposes, ranging from communicating a simple public health message, to advertising a company’s services, to social education. We don’t take a ‘one size fits all’ approach, producing tailor-made content which really packs a punch and delivers returns on investment.

In your view, what is needed to make a video production communicate the message in the best way ever?

Video can be used in so many ways, but there are some core ingredients which will make content stand out. It doesn’t have to always look perfect visually, especially on social media, but it does need to surprise and stimulate interest. Viewers often make their mind up in the first few seconds if they will continue watching. You need to grab their attention straight away, to connect with them. You need good characters, interesting visuals. You need to take the viewer on a journey. If you’re a brand or business, you’ll be looking to attract more customers, so there will often be a call to action at the end, something that encourages the viewer to connect with you. There’s no rule on how long a video should be because it really depends on why it is being made, how it is being used – and who it is targeted at. Social media content could be just 20 or 30 seconds, but a corporate promotional film may be five or six minutes.

Do you produce even dual camera interview videos?

We offer a full range of production services, including multi-camera shoots, drone filming and live streaming of conferences and events. We adapt to the individual needs of our clients.

What is your invitation to all the interested stakeholders and how do you measure the results of the videos produced?

If you’re not already using video as a company, charity or other organisation, you should definitely start to explore its potential. It’s a powerful communication tool – reaching many people, in many places, quickly. You can create some of your own content in house. You can also work with production companies like us to help you plan, produce and deliver a wide array of professional content. There are a range of options, to meet all sorts of budgets.

As part of any video communications strategy, measuring impact and reach is crucial. There are a range of analytical and data research tools available to help you gain those valuable insights.

At Headline Media UK, we work with clients all over Europe and globally. Maybe we can help you tell your story through video?
