Commodity trade leads the maritime transport by 55.1%

In July 2018, the value of traded goods was 85 billion Lek and 55.1% of them were transported by sea.

According to the latest statistics published by INSTAT, as far as the seven-month period 2018 is concerned, the value of traded goods is 552 billion leks and 54.5% of them were transported by sea.

Regarding the mode of transport, goods exported by sea in July 2018 accounted for 60.5%, those with road transport 37.8% and air transport 0.4%. Goods exported by road, in July 2018, increased by 15.4%.

Referring to the figures for the seven-month period 2018, it turns out that the goods exported by sea accounted for 59.1%, with 35.1% and with air 0.4%. Goods exported by road, in the first seven months of 2018, increased by 17.5% and by rail decreased by 22.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

As far as imports are concerned, in July 2018, imported sea goods accounted for 52.5%, with roads 43.3% and air 2.4%. Goods imported by rail in July 2018 increased by 11.0% and by road increased by 0.2% compared to July 2017.

In the first seven months of 2018, imported goods accounted for 52.2%, 42.9% and 2.7%. Goods imported by road, in the first seven months of 2018, increased by 2.2% and by rail decreased by 20.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
