Collaboration with business and its consideration as a partner is very important for the Albanian Customs Administration. General Director of Customs, Belinda Ikonomi, held a working meeting with the business community adhering to the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During this meeting, the head of the Albanian Customs Administration acquainted the representatives of entrepreneurship with the reforms undertaken by this administration to create a more favorable environment for them, mainly in facilitating the procedures. Mrs Ikonomi announced that working hours in various customs branches were extended, where in Qafë Thana and Morina, the service is 24 hours, which means a convenience for the business, avoiding traffic in export procedures. One of the most important points that Mrs. Ikonomi pointed out in front of the business, it was for the call that Customs are already making to apply and benefit from the status of an Authorized Economic Operator.

At the end of the meeting, the General Director of Customs and the head of the capital business signed a “Memorandum of Cooperation” between the two institutions, which aims to increase the exchange of information especially in the area of ​​customs legislation and procedures.
