On February 5th, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy signed the contract for the construction of Arbri Road. The winning construction company is “Gjoka Konstruksion”, and the work will begin during 2018.
The road project is estimated to cost at least EUR 240 million and the government will liquidate its debts to the construction firm within 13 years. According to the Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri, the concessionary company will build and maintain the road with their budget.
Arbri Road is one of Albania’s most important road infrastructure investments, due to the fact that the road connects Tirana with Dibra (bordering city in Macedonia) and significantly reduces the distance between the two countries.
