In early May, applications for farmers who want to receive grants from the IPARD fund of 94 million euros, funding for agriculture and agro-business are launched.
Priority will be the financial support of farm investments and processing.
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Niko Peleshi appealed to farmers to apply for the IPARD II 2014-2020 grant scheme addressed for the development of the agri-food sector in Albania.
Minister Peleshi announced today in a communication with the media that he has launched field information gathering with interest groups, thus challenging the absorption of all funds made available to the agricultural sector.
For investments in agricultural holdings, it applies to the dairy, meat, fruit-vegetable and viticulture sector.
A 94m-euro grant made available through the European Union’s IPARD Program in the amount of € 71m and the Albanian government € 24m will go to finance in agriculture by 2020 and will support all branches of this sector.
The IPARD Grant Scheme comes after the application that farmers have made to benefit from national subsidies in agriculture, which this year amounted to $ 20 million.
